How is it calculated?

Each month the monthly interest is added to the balance, then the payment comes off. The minimum payment is a share of the balance, so as the balance shrinks the payment shrinks too; that’s why the debt ends so slowly.

With a fixed payment, the same amount is paid every month. If it’s larger than the monthly interest, the balance melts a little faster each month. If it doesn’t cover the interest, the debt never ends.

The calculation assumes no new spending and a constant rate; a balance under ₺1 counts as paid, and it stops at 50 years. Late fees and charges are left out.

Frequently asked questions

Is interest charged if I pay the minimum?

Yes. Paying the minimum avoids late interest, but the unpaid part is charged the regular rate. Only paying the full statement balance avoids interest.

How much is the minimum payment?

It depends on your card limit and regulation. The current share is on your statement; enter it here.

How do I pay off my card faster?

Paying a fixed amount above the minimum works best. Stopping new spending and, where possible, refinancing with a lower-rate loan are other options; compare the cost with the loan payment calculator.
